Wentling Announces $25,000 for Law Enforcement Recruitment in Farrell

HARRISBURG – Rep. Parke Wentling (R-Mercer) announced today the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) awarded the city of Farrell a $25,000 Law Enforcement Recruitment grant. The goal of this funding is to support Act 120 training and recruitment activities for law enforcement officers. Act 120 is a mandatory training program for municipal police offers in Pennsylvania which is provided through the Municipal Police Officers’ Education and Training Commission (MPOETC).

Wentling Announces $500,000 to Support Affordable Housing in Sharpsville

HARRISBURG – Rep. Parke Wentling (R-Mercer) announced the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) awarded the Borough of Sharpsville $500,000 for existing owner-occupied housing in partnership with the Lawrence County Community Action Partnership. The funding is through the HOME Investment Partnership Program, which provides municipalities with grant and loan assistance to expand and preserve affordable housing.

Wentling Announces $100,000 Grant for Penn-Northwest’s Homegrown Initiative

Nearly $236,000 for Lawrence Mercer Manufacturers Coalition, Wentling Says

The LMMC is a partnership between several manufacturers in Mercer and Lawrence counties working to collaborate with schools and community organizations to show off the rewarding manufacturing careers available in the two counties.

Wentling Announces Nearly $80,000 for Mercer County Career Center

Parke Wentling (R-Mercer) announced Mercer County Career Center has been awarded $79,546 as part of a program to purchase new equipment to help train students in high-demand occupations through career and technical education programs. Eligible school districts and career and technical centers needed to administer eight or more programs approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

Wentling Announces $380,000 for Traffic Safety Project in Sharon

HARRISBURG – Rep. Parke Wentling (R-Mercer) announced the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will distribute $380,000 to the city of Sharon for a traffic safety project. The traffic signal at Route 62 and Spencer Avenue will be removed and the median will be extended to restrict turns at the intersection, while creating turnarounds for local traffic.

Wentling: Greenville to Receive $797,000 PENNVEST Loan

HARRISBURG – Rep. Parke Wentling (R-Mercer) today announced the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) has approved the town of Greenville’s request for a low-interest loan of $797,674, which will fund a project to help upgrade its storm sewer system. For the first five years, this loan’s interest rate will be locked at 1%. From years 6-20, the rate increases to just under 1.75%.

Wentling, Policy Committee Hold Hearing on Strengthening Rural Communities

Wentling Announces $22,000 in NAP Funding to Support Two Mercer County Projects

HARRISBURG – Rep. Parke Wentling (R-Mercer) announced today that two Mercer County nonprofits will receive $22,000 through the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP). The Community Action Partnership of Mercer County will receive $13,750, which will support 155 lots that need attention through implementing community gardens, an art installation, a flower garden and a memorial park. The Community Food Warehouse of Mercer County will receive $8,250 which will cover food, warehouses expenses, and costs associated with food distribution.

Wentling: Mercer County Historical Society to Receive PHMC Funds

Wentling to Host 100-Mile GAP Trail Ride

WHAT: PA House Cycling and Trail Caucus co-chair Parke Wentling (R-Mercer) invites fellow cyclists to join him Monday, Sept. 25, for a 100-mile ride along the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) trail. The ride will start in McKeesport and head south along the trail to Meyersdale. The ride is a celebration of Pennsylvania Trails Month.
