HARRISBURG – Rep. Parke Wentling (R-Mercer) announced today the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) awarded the city of Farrell a $25,000 Law Enforcement Recruitment grant. The goal of this funding is to support Act 120 training and recruitment activities for law enforcement officers. Act 120 is a mandatory training program for municipal police offers in Pennsylvania which is provided through the Municipal Police Officers’ Education and Training Commission (MPOETC).

HARRISBURG – Rep. Parke Wentling (R-Mercer) announced the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) awarded the Borough of Sharpsville $500,000 for existing owner-occupied housing in partnership with the Lawrence County Community Action Partnership. The funding is through the HOME Investment Partnership Program, which provides municipalities with grant and loan assistance to expand and preserve affordable housing.

HARRISBURG – Rep. Parke Wentling (R-Mercer) today announced the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) has approved the town of Greenville’s request for a low-interest loan of $797,674, which will fund a project to help upgrade its storm sewer system. For the first five years, this loan’s interest rate will be locked at 1%. From years 6-20, the rate increases to just under 1.75%.

HARRISBURG—Rural communities are the backbone of Pennsylvania, and yet burdensome government regulations and a diminishing workforce are preventing these areas from flourishing. Rep. HARRISBURG – Rep. Parke Wentling (R-Mercer) announced today that two Mercer County nonprofits will receive $22,000 through the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP). The Community Action Partnership of Mercer County will receive $13,750, which will support 155 lots that need attention through implementing community gardens, an art installation, a flower garden and a memorial park. The Community Food Warehouse of Mercer County will receive $8,250 which will cover food, warehouses expenses, and costs associated with food distribution.
