Wentling Announces PENNVEST Funding for Sharon Project

April 15, 2026

HARRISBURG – Rep. Parke Wentling (R-Mercer) announced today that Sharon has been awarded $3 million in funding from the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST).

This funding will be used to replace 171 catch basins throughout Sharon. The removal of existing structures and replacement of precast concrete catch basins with gates and frames will be included in the project work, along with required pavement restoration.

“The $3 million from PENNVEST is a major boost for this project in Sharon, which will help make necessary improvements to our sewer system,” said Wentling.

PENNVEST funding aids communities to increase the health and safety of Commonwealth citizens, protect our environment, promote economic development and improve water quality.
