Wentling Announces Grants for Area Fire Departments, EMS Companies

HARRISBURG – Rep. Parke Wentling (R-Mercer) today announced that multiple fire departments and emergency medical services (EMS) companies have received funding from the Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program.
The groups that have received funding are:
- Clark Volunteer Fire Department: $13,250.
- Elite EMS: $15,000.
- Farrell Volunteer Fire Department: $12,632.
- Greenville Fire Department and EMS: $13,663.
- Greenville Volunteer Fire Co.: $12,220.
- Hempfield Township Volunteer Fire Department: $12,838.
- Hermitage Volunteer Fire Department: $28,136.
- Jamestown Volunteer Fire Department: $13,044.
- Jackson Center Volunteer Fire Co.: $14,487.
- McGonigle Ambulance Service: $15,000.
- Patagonia Volunteer Fire Department: $12,838.
- Sharon Fire Department: $16,136.
- Sharpsville Volunteer Fire Department: $15,105.
- Shenango Township Volunteer Fire Department: $27,220.
- South Pymatuning Volunteer Fire Association: $12,426.
- Transfer Fire Department: $12,838.
- West Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department: $14,075.
- West Salem Fire Department: $12,838.
“These grants, funded through the Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program, will help our first responders. They deserve the tools necessary to protect our communities,” said Wentling.
This funding comes from an ongoing grant program created by the Legislature which is administered by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and Office of the State Fire Commissioner (OSFC). Projects eligible for funding include construction or renovation of a fire or ambulance company facility, purchase or repair of equipment, training, or reduction of existing debt.
