Wentling Announces AWARE to Receive Over $395,000 in Grant Funding

HARRISBURG - Rep. Parke Wentling (R-Mercer) today announced that $395,156 in grant funding has been awarded to AWARE in Mercer County to support homeless individuals across the county. 

This funding will be used to provide housing searches and counseling, transportation, case management, financial assistances costs, and short-term and medium-term financial assistance for rent. 

“This grant will support AWARE’s goals to help those struggling with homelessness across Mercer County. They do fantastic work, and the funding will be put to good use immediately,” said Wentling. 

This grant comes from the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED). DCED funded this grant and others through the HOME-American Rescue Plan Supportive Services Program and the HOME-American Rescue Plan Non-Congregate Shelter Program.
