HARRISBURG – Rep. Parke Wentling (R-Mercer) announced today he helped secure $1 million in Public School Facility Improvement grants from the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) for projects throughout the 7th Legislative District.

“As a former public school teacher,” Wentling said, “I’m proud to bring this funding back to our schools, minimizing the financial impact these projects will have on students, staff, faculty and taxpayers.”

School districts receiving Public School Facility Improvement grants are:
• Greenville Area School District – $200,000 for window replacement and asbestos mitigation at the junior/senior high school building.
• Reynolds School District – $200,000 for energy savings projects at the junior/senior high school building.
• Sharon City School District – $200,000 for roof repair projects at Sharon Middle-High School and West Hill Elementary School.
• Sharpsville Area School District – $200,000 for a roof replacement project at the combined middle and high school building.
• West Middlesex Area School District – $200,000 for boiler system replacement projects at Luther Low Elementary and Oakview Elementary schools.

The Public School Facility Improvement Grant Program awards funds to public school districts and area career and technical schools for eligible facility improvement projects.
