HARRISBURG – Rep. Parke Wentling (R-Mercer) announced today the PA Housing Finance Agency (PHFA) has awarded a total of more than $5 million in aid for the School House Commons, a project to build and renovate 37 one-bedroom and four two-bedroom units for seniors aged 62 and above.
“I’m glad to have played a role in bringing funding back home to Mercer County to make this important project happen in Greenville,” Wentling said. “Thanks to this aid from PHFA, and the hard work of Hudson Companies, qualified seniors will have access to housing that won’t break the bank.”
The PHFA aid consists of more than $1.4 million in tax credits, and an additional $3.7 million in funding from the Pennsylvania Housing Tax Credit (PHTC), Pennsylvania Housing Affordability and Rehabilitation Enhancement funding and PennHOMES funding, which is primarily provided through the federal Home Investment Partnership Program.
