HARRISBURG – Rep. Parke Wentling (R-Mercer) announced today the deadline for older adults and Pennsylvanians with disabilities to apply for the Property Tax/Rent Rebate program has been extended from June 30 to Dec. 31.

“Thanks to legislation I supported expanding this program, nearly 175,000 more Pennsylvanians qualify for property tax and rent rebate relief,” Wentling said. “Whether you’re a first-time filer or a returning applicant, my staff can help anyone eligible get some money back into your pocket.”

The rebate program benefits eligible Pennsylvanians 65 years and older; widows and widowers 50 years and older; and people with disabilities 18 years and older. Currently, the income limit is $45,000 per year, and half of Social Security income is excluded.

To apply for a rebate, visit Wentling’s Shenango Valley district office at 689 N. Hermitage Road, Suite 2, in Hermitage or the Greenville district office at 182 Main St. in Greenville. Those interested can call the Shenango Valley office at 724-734-5980 or the Greenville office at 724-638-4101 to set up an appointment.
