HARRISBURG – Rep. Parke Wentling (R-Mercer) announced today the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry has awarded $235,786 to the Lawrence Mercer Manufacturers Coalition (LMMC). The LMMC is a partnership between several manufacturers in Mercer and Lawrence counties working to collaborate with schools and community organizations to show off the rewarding manufacturing careers available in the two counties.
“The Lawrence Mercer Manufacturers Coalition is doing an important job by showing the next generation what we are manufacturing here and equipping them with the skills they need to live and work in our community,” Wentling said.
This grant is being awarded through the Industry Partnership program. It encourages partnerships among businesses in various sectors to address education and training, economic development needs, coordination of regional support teams, identification of community resources and support of collaborative initiatives.
