– Rep. Parke Wentling (R-Mercer) announced the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will distribute $380,000 to the city of Sharon for a traffic safety project. The traffic signal at Route 62 and Spencer Avenue will be removed and the median will be extended to restrict turns at the intersection, while creating turnarounds for local traffic.
“This project has the potential to save lives,” Wentling said. “If this new construction can prevent even one fatal crash, it will be worth it.”
This grant was funded through the Automated Red Light Enforcement program.
