HARRISBURG – Rep. Parke Wentling (R-Mercer) announced the release of $177,327 in state funds to improve the accessible playground at Rodney White Olympic Park.
This funding stems from the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Greenway, Trails and Recreation Program, which funds projects for planning, acquisition, development, rehabilitation and repair of greenways, trails, open spaces and parks.
“Rodney White Olympic Park has been a popular place with Mercer County’s kids for a quarter of a century,” Wentling said. “This funding will help pay for improvements to the park, including resurfacing and replacing the benches and playground equipment.
“This park is named after Hermitage’s own Olympic gold medalist. These improvements will help the playground continue to live up to his name.”
