HARRISBURG – Rep. Parke Wentling (R-Mercer) announced today that four school districts located in the 7th Legislative District received a combined $275,000 in Safe Schools Targeted Grant funding.

“As a former educator, I am pleased to see this funding invested in our community schools,” Wentling said.

The allocations are as follows:
Jamestown Area School District: $75,000 from the School Resource Officer (SRO) grant.
Reynolds School District: $75,000 from the SRO grant.
West Middlesex Area School District: $75,000 from the SRO grant.
Sharon City School District: $50,000 in equipment and program grants.

The Safe Schools Targeted Grant Program is administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) and funded by the General Assembly through this year’s state budget.

PDE’s Office for Safe Schools offers four types of safety grants: equipment grants, program grants, School Police Officer (SPO) grants and SRO grants.
