HARRISBURG – Rep. Parke Wentling (R-Crawford/Erie/Lawrence/Mercer) is reminding residents that his upcoming event, which will address illegible and damaged license plate replacements, with free license plate replacements, will take place in less than one week.

“I am pleased to offer this opportunity to area citizens who I have the pleasure to serve,” said Wentling.

The free event will be held on Monday, July 18, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Jamestown Volunteer Fire Department located at 208 Depot St., Jamestown. An officer from the Jamestown Borough Police Department will be checking the plates and determining the need for replacement.

Drivers must bring along their unexpired Pennsylvania driver’s license and current vehicle registration card. This event is only for those with standard or eligible vanity plates. Specialty plates such as those for veterans, PA zoos, college alumni, etc. cannot be processed at this event. Drivers who have specialty plates with damage will need to work directly with PennDOT on a replacement.

A registration plate is considered unreadable when one or more numbers or letters cannot be recognized from 50 feet or if the registration plate shows any blistering, peeling, discoloration or loss of reflectivity.

Drivers must register to attend in advance. To register, call the Conneaut Lake district office at 814-382-7200.
