Multiple Grants Awarded to Schools Across 7th District
HARRISBURG – Rep. Parke Wentling (R-Mercer) announced today that multiple schools across the 7th House District have received funding from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency’s (PCCD) School Safety and Security Committee (SSSC). These grants are school safety grants for nonpublic schools and municipalities, law enforcement agencies, and approved security vendors supplying school security personnel services to schools.
Two schools in the 7th District received targeted school safety grants for non-public schools:
- The Shenango Valley Catholic school system received $50,000.
- Crossroads private school, both the boys’ and girls’ school, received a combined $74,000.
Eight school districts and one charter school received school safety and mental health grants:
- Farrell Area School District received $113,132.
- Greenville Area School District received $123,542.
- Hermitage School District received $138,319.
- Jamestown Area School District received $107,099.
- Keystone Education Center Charter School received $70,000.
- Reynolds School District received $118,043.
- Sharon City School District received $136,906.
- Sharpsville Area School District received $118,724.
- West Middlesex Area School District received $113,232.
“As a former teacher, I know how important school safety is,” said Wentling. “Thanks to this funding, our students and teachers across the 7th District will be safer and have a better experience at school. The safer our schools are, the better they will do.”
