Wentling, Toomey Seek Vietnam War-era Veterans
HARRISBURG – Local veterans of the Vietnam War era will be honored by the offices of state Rep. Parke Wentling (R-Crawford/Erie/Lawrence/Mercer) and U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA) during a recognition ceremony at Greenville VFW Post 3374, located at 54 Conneaut Lake Road on Tuesday, June 13, at 9 a.m.

“This recognition represents our appreciation to the men and women who served our great nation and wore its uniform during the Vietnam War era,” Wentling said. “These men and women deserve every honor that can be bestowed upon them and I am grateful for the opportunity to recognize them for their selfless sacrifice.”

During the ceremony, veterans will be presented with a commemorative pin from Toomey’s office and a medallion from the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

To be eligible for the pin and medallion, the recipient must be a living United States veteran who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces between Nov. 1, 1955, and May 15, 1975, regardless of service location.

Eligible veterans are asked to call Wentling’s office at 1-855-249-2427 or 814-382-7200, or go to his website,, and click on the veterans icon to register by Friday, June 9.

“I encourage all eligible veterans in the area to contact my office to register to attend this ceremony,” Wentling said.

Robert DeSousa, who serves as Toomey’s state director and as a Colonel in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, will attend on the senator’s behalf. Former state Sen. Bob Robbins, a Vietnam War veteran, will attend on behalf of Wentling, who will be in Harrisburg for session that day.

Doors open at 9 a.m. and the ceremony will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 13.
